Roamni iOS App
My role
UX consultant
The team
I worked alongside the company cofounders and two developers who were building out the iOS app.
My responsibilities
- Heuristic evaluation
- Information architecture
- User journeys
- Wireframes
The challenge
Roamni is a start-up, creating an innovative tourism iOS app. The cofounders had been working directly with developers to build the app, and had not yet had any UX input.
The project goals
Provide a report that allowed the cofounders to understand the areas that could be improved for better usability, and assist with designing out these improvements.
Approach
I conducted a heuristic evaluation on the current iOS app using Jakob Nielsen’s 10 general principles for interaction design. This was to identify at a high level any areas that needed to be revisited in the design, and also identify areas that did currently cover the heuristics. This allowed the client to understand areas for improvement that they could focus on.
I was then asked to engage in a further piece of work designing these larger proposed changes in wireframes, which saw improvements to the overall information architecture of the system, consideration of state changes within the app (offline, logged in etc), as well as focus on ensuring smooth user journeys for the core tasks within the app.
