ECN Live Scheduling Software
My role
UX designer
The team
I worked alongside a product manager, back-end developer and front-end developer within Durable Digital, as well as working closely with the client’s key stakeholders and main system user.
My responsibilities
- User research
- Workshop facilitation
- Wireframing
- Prototyping
- Usability testing
The challenge
The main administrator at ECN Live gave feedback that she was unable to configure advertising campaigns and content with as much control as she would have liked across the estate of advertising screens around London.
The project goals
Update the advertising scheduling software to allow configuration of advertising campaigns to be shown at different locations and at different time periods. This additional configuration needed to be easy to set up, as well as provide the ability to oversee all configuration set in the system in one view.
Approach
I took a user centred approach to the project, as I ran workshops with the main administrator to understand the underlying user needs and any current usability issues that could be resolved. Design concepts, which focused on keeping the interface as simple as possible using techniques such as progressive disclosure, were mocked up into an interactive prototype using Protoshare. I then usability tested the prototype with the main administrator, and made improvements following feedback. I then worked alongside the developers to get the updates implemented into the software.
